Hark Orchids, a German-based company, expanded in United States by building a new 30,000 square-foot facility in Kalamazoo, MI. Kalamazoo Mechanical performed the complete HVAC system work in this new facility. The system included energy recovery units, chillers, blower coil units, boilers, unit heaters, radiant tubing and a Liebert precision cooling unit. These systems served as the heating, cooling, and ventilation needs of this high-performance facility. The building was controlled by a web-based ddc control system. One of the major challenges in this project included insuring the complete climate stabilization before the facility was online, as this was very crucial to the orchid seeds that would be germinated there. Kalamazoo Mechanical worked closely with Control Net, LLC in ensuring the climate stability as the inventories worth was estimated in the millions.
