Kalamazoo Mechanical, Inc. installed the complete HVAC package at the new Christian life center in Ijamesville, MD. The CLC is a 60,000 square foot church and worship center. This facilities heating and cooling needs are served by a total of 17 air-cooled heat pump systems. Kalamazoo Mechanical worked closely with the mechanical engineer on this project to design a system that would meet the varied needs of the facility. A challenge that Kalamazoo Mechanical faced with this church, similar to all churches, is the changing demands on the HVAC system though out the week, going from vacant to completely occupied in a matter of minutes. In these circumstances the HVAC system needs to respond accordingly, Kalamazoo Mechanical installed a total of 6 packaged heat pump systems in the sanctuary to work together to meet the demands. It was important for this congregation to be able to monitor and control their HVAC systems remotely but the cost of a full building automation system was a concern. KMI installed a Honeywell RedLINK controls system that is cost effective and gives remote monitoring and control from any computer or smart phone.
